I am a  designer maker  based on the outskirts of the historic Roman village of Caerwent in South Wales. Working predominantly in wood , I produce bespoke furniture and fine boxes both speculatively and to commission. My work employs traditional and contemporary methods of construction with the aim to create practical,  well resolved and long lived products that have aesthetic appeal.

In 1997, I graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in furniture design and returned home to Wales where I set up my first workshop.  I began taking on fitted furniture commissions and spent short periods employed by local cabinet makers in an effort to broaden my understanding of  the bespoke furniture industry. I was fortunate to team up with property developers working in London where one house renovation would lead to multiple rooms needing fitted furniture and I used the range of  these commissions  to develop my skills as a bespoke furniture maker.

In 2006 I migrated to South Australia with my young family. I found employment with a kitchen manufacturer, a fine cabinet makers and finally a job working as creative assistant to one of Australia's leading furniture designers, Khai Liew. This role provided the opportunity to work on a diverse and highly prestigious range of projects and apart from creating furniture for many private customers, we undertook several land mark commissions. Notable projects included Khai's one man exhibition - Tiersmen to Linenfold, hosted by the Jam Factory in Adelaide followed by the Form gallery in Perth. We completed an extensive range of furniture for what is now one of South Australia's premier tourist destinations, Southern Ocean Lodge on Kangaroo Island and also designed and documented a large exhibition enclosure to be installed within Adelaide's historic Museum of Economic Botany. My final project with Khai was to assist in the development of a bedroom suite for the governor general's residence, Admiralty House in Sydney.

We returned to the UK in 2009 where I initially began working as a creative designer for bespoke cabinet makers, Artichoke ltd who were based on the outskirts of Bristol. In 2010 I set up my current workshop taking on subcontracted projects designing and making furniture. I decided to move away from the production of larger fitted commissions and now focus on smaller, more manageable projects  which allow me to explore and express my own creative ideas.
